So, I changed my template. What do you think? Too bright? Too busy? Like? Tell me in the comments!

I am plain old DYING right now with lack of time. I think I have mentioned before that I lost my writing time after being hired two extra days at the preschool. I realized today that I haven't really written or done a good revision since that happened. ARGH! Of course, my husband is completely unhelpful - "Just tell them no." Right.

Anyway, Spring Break is coming up, and I think I am going to try to hire a babysitter for at least one day so I can work. I have decided to take a day off in mid-April, as well. Here's hoping I can get LOTS of work done! Oh, and if you see me online between the hours of 9am and 3pm est. on April 23, please feel free to yell at me. Profusely.

Here are a couple of fun posts I found today. You should check them out.

Carrie Harris posts an interview with Kody Keplinger and some links to more interviews.

Jenny Bent posts on rejection.

Jim at Dystel and Goderich Literary Agency Blog will tell you what to read next if you tell him the last five books you read.

Enjoy those!

Also, my brother's band, The Rise of Defiance, released their CD last weekend. They are working on getting it on iTunes this week. My middle child sings on the first track and it is AWESOME! If you like metal/rock you should check them out!

  1. No, not too busy. It's bright, but to me that's only a problem if the reading surface is bright or the contrast is jarring. If you like bright, you've found a way to use it while still keeping the blog readable. :)

  2. I like the bright, fun design! Very nice. Bummer about working too much! I agree, just say no!
I finished the book I won here - Magic Under Glass and LOVED LOVED it! Thank you so much! I hope you read it too!

  3. Thanks, Marcia and Terry! I do really like it. It's all swirly and pretty!

Terry, I am so glad you loved MUG! I haven't read it yet, but it is next on my TBR pile, and I am hoping to spend some time over Spring Break reading as well as writing/revising. Yay!

  4. The new layout is nice...nice and summery!! Good luck getting some work done. Sorry you got sucked into working more, but summer will be here before you know it! :)

  5. Love the new blog template. And good luck finding the time to write. I find I have to get very creative with a 3 year old and a 5-year-old. I usually end up writing at night and sometimes (when I'm really desperate) I bring my laptop to the gym and write while the kids are in the playroom. Shhhh.....

  6. Hi Kelly and LiLa! Kelly, I wish summer would make it easier! Hopefully my kids will want to play together nicely and leave me alone...I can dream, anyway.

LiLa, I wish I could write at night. Apparently, when we ordered our kids, we ordered the Uber-Adorable* (TM) brand. Unfortunately, we forgot to look at the fine print: *Uber-Adorable (TM) children now come in low-sleep mode. For high-sleep needs, try Super- or Very-Adorable (TM). In other words, my kids won't go to bed until 10pm or later. Since I have to be up at 7am and teaching 2 year olds from 9am-1pm, writing after 10 won't work. *sigh*

  7. I like orange and I love swirls. Looks great :-) I hope you find time to do some more writing!

  8. I hear you on the lack of time. It's killing me, too, especially since my kids have been out of school for nearly 3 weeks (track break, elem school). Gah! My writing time is near non-existent of late.

PS: Love the yellow & orange background, it's fresh!

  9. Larissa--I'm loving the new blog look. So late in saying so, but still. Fab.
