Best Writing Compliment So Far

I just got the biggest compliment I have had so far in my writing career! I'm so ridiculously excited!
One of my critique group members told me that she was so into reading the first three chapters of my story, she almost fell out of her chair when the phone rang!

Hooray!

(How pathetic am I?) LOL.

Off to write more gripping stuff! :)

  1. Great compliment! And you're not pathetic at all. Writing is SO full of negatives - you have to grab on to the positives when they come your way! :-)

  2. That's awesome! I'd be way excited if somebody told me that, too! :-)

  3. Hey,
Just saw your comment over at Moonie's. So funny. I posted the same thing!

I used to live in Orlando (my husband was a student at Reformed Theological Seminary) and I taught at Southwest and Chain of Lakes Middle Schools.

  5. That's not pathetic.. that's an awesome compliment. Good work on the story then. I just found your blog, so forgive me if you've covered this, but what kind of stories do you write? Short? Novel? YA? Horror?...

  6. Caroline - Isn't Moonrat the best? I taught first grade at Endeavor, and I teach preschool in Casselberry now. :)

Jm - I started out writing picture books, and then one morphed into a middle grade without warning. The book mentioned above is a YA. My to-be-written file contains a mix of everything. LOL.
